THE rationale of elections in a representative democracy is to ensure that people are represented by those they want to represent them.
Elections are very expensive processes and are not supposed to be tampered with by individuals pursuing self-interest. The same people who are supposed to have a clear understanding of the political game are the same people sabotaging it and even bringing divisions and hatred within the party. What do they want if they are not elected? Why did they let elections go on if they detected alleged irregularities? They must accept defeat rather than just waste our time reading and listening to their unfounded stories.I thought they were aware that those positions were not permanent nor full-time and are not even based on performance contracts. The people of Ongwediva town have unequivocally spoken that you four should pack and go.Please accept the rule of the game and give a chance to the elected councillors.P Muteyauli Via e-mailThe same people who are supposed to have a clear understanding of the political game are the same people sabotaging it and even bringing divisions and hatred within the party. What do they want if they are not elected?
