Tonata Shiimi sponsors cyclist Brand

FEMALE cyclist Hayley Brand received a full sponsorship for 2012 from Tonata Shiimi through his Exclusive Health & Wellness gym in Windhoek.

Shiimi made his endorsement of the 2011 Namibia Elite Women’s Cycling Championships winner public on Tuesday although the sponsorship was awarded over a month ago.He believes the sponsorship will take Brand to the next level in international cycling. Brand has had a busy 2011, having done the 110km Argus Cycle Tour in Cape Town in March, winning the Namibia Winter Classic women’s 50km race in May, and managing second in the Pick n Pay 100km in October. She also won the gruelling FNB Desert Ultra Triathlon female team race last weekend in Swakopmund.Hayley thanked Shiimi for the sponsorship that includes cycling equipment, clothing, travel costs and general financial support. Brand, who dreams of racing professionally and at the Olympic Games in Brazil in 2016, said without the backing she would not have been able to compete in her planned competitions next year.
