Toddler dies after fire accident at Okongo

A boy (2) died tragically after succumbing to burn injuries sustained in a fire on Saturday.

Ohangwena police crime investigation deputy commissioner Zacharia Amakali says the incident happened at Ondeumane village in the Okongo constituency of the Ohangwena region.

According to Amakali, Nicolas Abraham was left playing with two other children, aged six and five, inside a house.

It is alleged that the children gained access to fire, setting two huts ablaze.

Nicolas reportedly suffered burns all over his body.

Despite being rushed to the Okongo District Hospital for medical attention, Nicolas succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the Onandjokwe Hospital.
