Toddler dies after drinking battery acid

A TODDLER (3) died on Saturday morning after drinking battery acid at Uuhongo village at Onesi.

According to a police report, the sulphuric acid was left in the room were the toddler, Neuvo Mundukuta, was sleeping.

Mundutuka was allegedly left in the care of another child (12).

The police said the toddler’s parents allegedly instructed the 12-year-old to use the battery acid to disinfect their puppy’s ears, which had been attacked by ticks.

Police investigations continue.
