TELECOM Namibia on Wednesday signed a N$120 million contract with Dimension Data Namibia to supply and implement an Internet Protocol/ Multiprotocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) network aimed at transforming Telecom’s ability to offer the most advanced services to customers.

In terms of this contract, Dimension Data Namibia will have the responsibility for network design and planning, integration, deployment, training, service rollout and ongoing maintenance. Signing the contract, Telecom Managing Director Frans Ndoroma said the IP/MPLS contract with Dimension Data would enrich and solidify the company’s infrastructure, transforming its ability to provide the more enhanced, value-added services that customers are demanding.”A unified platform will give us the freedom to offer new IP and Ethernet virtual private networking services and interwork these with our traditional network, which is critical to meet enterprise demands for complex on-demand services that challenge the existing infrastructure,” he said.NampaSigning the contract, Telecom Managing Director Frans Ndoroma said the IP/MPLS contract with Dimension Data would enrich and solidify the company’s infrastructure, transforming its ability to provide the more enhanced, value-added services that customers are demanding.”A unified platform will give us the freedom to offer new IP and Ethernet virtual private networking services and interwork these with our traditional network, which is critical to meet enterprise demands for complex on-demand services that challenge the existing infrastructure,” he said.Nampa
