ONDANGWA – A single mother at the Etambo settlement, of the Oluno suburb at Ondangwa, lost most of her property in a fire on Wednesday.
Fenny David (40) told Nampa on Friday that it appeared that the fire was sparked by her three-year-old son while she was at work. He was reportedly playing with matches.A number of rooms, including the bedrooms, burned out but prompt assistance by neighbours saved the rest of the house.”The situation forced me to go and borrow clothes and bedding for my children … from the neighbours, as the fire left us with nothing,” David told Nampa. She said they had lost all their clothes, beds, blankets as well as her children’s school books. She is now appealing for assistance.Davids is employed as a labourer by the Ministry of Defence at Ondangwa.Nobody was injured.- NampaHe was reportedly playing with matches.A number of rooms, including the bedrooms, burned out but prompt assistance by neighbours saved the rest of the house.”The situation forced me to go and borrow clothes and bedding for my children … from the neighbours, as the fire left us with nothing,” David told Nampa. She said they had lost all their clothes, beds, blankets as well as her children’s school books. She is now appealing for assistance.Davids is employed as a labourer by the Ministry of Defence at Ondangwa.Nobody was injured.- Nampa
