Three take their lives over weekend

The police have reported that a woman (40) was found dead at a mental health facility in Windhoek on Saturday.

National police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi says the incident is suspected to be a suicide case.

“The woman, identified as Kondjela Hamunyela, was reportedly discovered at Serenity Mental Health Facility in Pioniers Park.

“No foul play is suspected and her next of kin have been informed,” she says.

An Angolan man (31) was found dead at Omandakani village at Eheke in the Oshana region on Friday.

He reportedly drowned in a pond after he went to wash himself following the rescue of a cow that was stuck in the water.

His relatives discovered his shoes and clothes at the pond, prompting a search. His body was later retrieved by police divers.

Meanwhile, in the Omusati region, the body of Alina Shatimwene (30) was discovered at Ohamautsi village in the Anamulenge constituency on Friday.

Shikwambi says Shatimwene’s body was discovered inside a house.
