A teenage boy was one of three people who died over the weekend after allegedly being struck by lightning.
National police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi in the weekend crime report says Joseph Kandjila (13) was found under a tree at Oshiki shaHaihonya village at Okongo on Friday.
“It is suspected the deceased was struck by lightning. No foul play is suspected,” she says.
A second person, Marando Dikoro (56), was allegedly struck by lightning under a tree at Divundu on Friday.
A cattle herder was the third person allegedly killed by lightning. The incident occurred at Ntara village in the Kavango West region on Saturday.
“It is alleged that Rarufa Munango, an adult male, died instantly after he was struck by lightning while looking after cattle with other people,” the report says.

The police have reported two separate suspected suicide cases over the weekend.
Shikwambi says no foul play is suspected and investigations are ongoing.
One alleged case of suicide occurred at Goreangab in Windhoek on Friday morning. The police reported the name of the deceased as Israel Mwashekele (42).
At Okatope village in Ohangwena, Nghilifaveli Nghidipomwene Ngube’s (23) body was discovered at around 12h00 on Saturday.
“No foul play is suspected. No suicide note was found,” Shikwambi says.
She says the deceased’s next of kin have been informed of the incidents.
Two women raped
Two cases of alleged rape were recorded on Friday, according to the police.
A man (26) is alleged to have raped a woman (22) at Okakango at Okakarara on Friday.
“It is alleged that the suspect dragged the victim to his home at Okakango from a bar . . . and raped her,” Shikwambi says.
The suspect has been arrested.
The second case of alleged rape occurred at Katima Mulilo, where the victim (22) was raped in bushes along the tarred road.
“It is further alleged that the victim was rescued by one of her friends . . . and the suspect fled the scene,” the police report says.
The suspect has not yet been arrested.
