The FNB Women Super League has developed into a three-horse title race after the league hit the halfway mark over the weekend.

After 11 matches, Beauties FC hold a slight lead at the top of the log on 29 points, but African Stars Queens on 28 and the defending champions FC Ongos Ladies on 27 are both in hot pursuit.

Beauties maintained their unbeaten status with a comfortable 5-0 win against Windhoek City.

Their national striker Fiola Vliete was once again on target, scoring a brace, while Milicent Hikuam, Leena Alweendo and Helena Amwandangi scored one goal each to complete a comprehensive win.

That put Beauties at the top of the log on 29 points, after nine wins and two draws, but African Stars Queens are just one point behind after they beat Khomas Nampol Ladies 1-0 in a close encounter.

Defending champions FC Ongos Ladies, meanwhile, moved up to third place on 28 points after thumping Namib Arrows 10-0.

Striker Anna Shikusho was their star player, scoring six goals, while Memory Ngonda scored a hattrick and Lydiana Nanamus one goal.

The match, however, was disrupted by a fight early in the second half that saw Thomalina Adams of Ongos and Cleopatra Hubsch of Namib Daughters throwing punches at each other, which resulted in red cards for both.

Ongos, who have won eight matches and drawn three, are the only remaining unbeaten team after Beauties.

Khomas Nampol remain fourth on the log on 19 points, despite their defeat to African Stars Queens, while Arrows Ladies also move up to 19 points after beating V Power Angels 3-0.

In other matches, Unam Bokkies won their derby match against Nust Babes 6-0, to move up to sixth place on the log on 18 points, while Julinho Athletic Ladies beat Okahandja FC 3-0 to move up to seventh place on 17 points.

The relegation battle is also hotting up with Nust Babes on six points, V Power Angels (5), Namib Daughters (5) and Okahandja FC (4) all in the mix.

The race for the top goalscorer of the season award is also hotting up with Fiola Vliete of Beauties and Memory Ngonda of FC Ongos now in the joint lead on 16 goals each.

Penomwaameni Tomas of Khomas Nampol is third on 13 goals, followed by Beverly Uueziua of Julinho Athletic Ladies (10), and Anna Shikusho of FC Ongos and Muhinatjo Hanavi of Unam Bokkies on nine goals each.
