The Yoga Barn

The Yoga Barn must be to yogis what Disneyland is to everybody else. Situated down a cobbled street off Jalan Hanoman in downtown Ubud in Bali, Indonesia, The Yoga Barn presents as a bit of a yoga factory churning out over 15 yoga classes and workshops per day, 360 days a year.

Easy on the beginner with intro to yoga classes hosted daily in between various levels of kundalini, hatha, power, yin, vinyasa, acro and restorative yoga as well as crystal bowl meditation, sound healing and more, The Yoga Barn offers a wealth of sessions in a tranquil and sprawling treehouse of a studio overlooking atmospheric rice paddies and verdant gardens.

Serenity come to wooden life if you can get past the abrupt, vibe-killing reception staff below the main studio, The Yoga Barn is a singular and environmentally friendly space in which to deepen or begin one’s yoga practice while extras like kush, the Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Centre and organic pressed juices and treats at the Garden Kafe only add to the feeling that you could stay all day.

Oddly enough, you can! At the Yoga Barn Guest House which offers accommodation to yogis as well as those visiting for teacher training, cleanses and retreats.

Head here to experience full yoga immersion away from the relative bustle of Ubud.

Registration starts 30 minutes before the classes which are popular, limited and require you arrive early or be turned away like a dog in the rain that falls rather refreshingly throughout December.
