I used to love the kind of power flirting with someone has, especially when you were not on the receiving end. It’s almost like a power-hungry game where you are in absolute control and very rarely are forced to put down your sword and retreat.
I admit, I have played this game from a young age but because I was so into it, I decided to get out – kind of like making that last agreement to do one job before getting out of a gang. When you come to a point in your life where you want to move on to bigger things and leave the childish behaviour behind, you bow out of the game and let sleeping dogs lie. Even in gambling, people are advised to quit while they’re winning. And that’s exactly what I did.
I came out with my scars, though. You know, people saying I was ‘too flirty’ with guys, even though I was simply being friendly. Maybe I know the difference, maybe not. Guess I just found my weapon of mass seduction earlier than I thought.
I know a couple of people who have led others on like it’s a hobby because they loved the attention, even when they knew a relationship was not going to come out of it. They can’t help but manipulate the few people who worship the ground they walk on and use their weapons to get what they want because their ‘victims’ simply cannot resist.
Like strings on a puppet, they control the game and no matter how much you try, you cannot make them fall in love with you. They say the right words, do certain things to make their followers grovel and worst of all, they have the power to make you feel things that you shouldn’t.
They don’t even have to lift a finger to make you fall, you just do. Without knowing it, you end up giving your entire life to them, and it’s all for nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zero balance. No equality at all. Slowly, but surely, they rip out your soul and leave it on the pavement to dry as they walk away into the sunset just to try it on someone else. I’ve seen it happen many times and that’s one of the many ways people slide right into the friend zone.
Stop making yourself susceptible to these people because one way or another, all your friends are going to laugh at you behind your back. Life is cruel, and it’s time you dealt with it, face to face, mano e mano.
Heard of the term ‘trap’? According to the streets, a trap refers to a situation where a man or a woman intentionally partakes in a particular activity in order to garner attention which will, eventually, satisfy their self-esteem or basic needs. An example, you ask? Noticed a case where someone posts a half-nude picture with the caption ‘come and get it’? Trap.
Or a status where someone goes ‘I’m home alone tonight. Need someone to cuddle with’. That’s right, a trap.
‘If you’ve ever gone down on a man or a woman, retweet.’ Yep, trap.
So to prevent yourself from posting a bunch of nonsense comments like ‘marry me’ or ‘call me’, your scroll game has got to be on 100! Scroll, dear friends, scroll! Lift that index finger like it’s training for the marathon!
Channel your inner Neo from ‘The Matrix’ and dodge those bullets like your life depends on it!
This is educational, people. Make yourselves aware. It’s a tough world outchea and if you can’t identify the traps, you’re going to sink deeper and dilapidate alone.
Everyone’s got a weapon of mass seduction, basic fact, and people have been using them. Just know when it’s not for all the right reasons.
