It has, in fact, been on the roads since 2011, says Andre van der Merwe, sales manager of Mitsubishi Motors Namibia.
Due to its unique size it fits in with the bigger SUVs and smaller crossovers of competitors, he says.
The ASX comes standard with a 2.0L engine and is available either with an automatic or manual transmission.
Mitsubishi, unlike many other cars in the market, uses its own Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Electronic Control (MIVEC) engines.
The engine is one of the many reasons the car”;s durability will give owners many years of carefree miles.
The ASX has a host of safety features for both driver and passenger.
It comes standard with seven airbags and side-impact safety bars in case of a side-swipe crash, as well as active stability and traction control.
The keyless operating system is handy as one”;s hands are normally full.
The ASX, since it is a family car, comes standard with Isofix child-seat anchors.
The hill-start assist and brake-assist system are just some of the many other features to give you that long-distance and town-driving peace of mind.
The interior and exterior of the car hold a lot of uniquely distinctive features associated with the ASX.
The driver has a multi-functional leather steering wheel with audio and cruise control.
The multi-information display informs the driver of all the vital information needed, like speed, temperature, fuel consumption and many more.
The vehicle has electric windows with a one-touch up or down on the driver”;s side.
It is unimaginable in today”;s life to live without a smartphone, and the ASX comes standard with the smartphone-link display audio, and is both AppleCarPlay and Android Auto adaptable.
The ASX Aspire is fitted with a panoramic glass roof to enjoy the scenery.
It has built-in UV protective coating, LED illumination with brightness settings, and is also electrically controlled.
A host of exterior features give the car a sporty feeling.
Fitted with LED daytime running lights, auto rain-sensing variable intermittent wipers, rear spoiler with high-mound stop lamps, LED fog lamps, and 18-inch black alloy wheels make the ASX stand out among the rest.
The car”;s fuel economy involves a mere 7,9L/100km.
This consumption is calculated under normal driving conditions.
The car is not only well placed in its segment, but is also priced right, Van der Merwe says.
Pricing ranges from N$381 995 for the basic model to N$461 955 for the Aspire, which is the top of the range.
To add peace of mind when purchased, the ASX all comes with a three-year 100 000km guarantee and a three-year 60 000km service plan.
The service plan can be extended at an additional cost, Van der Merwe says.
