Learn some art, eat kapana till you’re full, listen to some live music, show off at quiz night, watch a scary movie in the bush, dress like a ghost, learn to act on stage or celebrate some good local art and fashion. I don’t know, I’m not the boss of you.

Today

The Next Ma /Gaisa Star season four grand finale is taking place today at The National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) Backstage from 19h00. Tickets cost between N$250 and N$450.

This Weekend

The City of Windhoek is hosting the annual City Kapana Festival tomorrow! Come through all day long for food, drinks and entertainment.

There’s an ‘In The Bos’ movie night at the Droombos Graveyard tomorrow evening from 19h00. Tickets for the ‘Beetlejuice’ screening are N$230 per person and includes a picnic setup and welcoming drink.

Le Roof at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre is hosting ‘House of Horrors’ tomorrow from 19h00. This spooky Halloween celebration will cost N$140 in advance and N$160 at the door.

Sicilia’s Restaurant and Lounge is hosting Gazza Live tomorrow. Catch the crooner alongside an acoustic band from 19h30 till late. Single tickets are N$500, a table of four is N$1 950, a table for six is N$2 900 and N$5 000 for VIP. The dress code is elegant. Entry includes complimentary drinks and food platters.

The Matutura Cultural Festival takes place at Matutura, Swakopmund, tomorrow and Saturday under the theme ‘Torchbearers of our Culture’. It will include traditional food, stories, culture and dances all day long.

Jazz lovers are in for a treat as the Windhoek Jazz Festival is set to rock the city this Saturday. This year’s headline is South African jazz guru Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse. Tickets are available through Webtickets, priced at N$350 until tomorrow, and N$400 on the day of the event.

The annual Otjomuise Live Arts Festival is back for its 2025 edition at Zoo Park. This is their MOVE! edition, featuring music, dance, live art installations, theatre productions, public mural paintings and other art exhibitions. Catch the likes of Tapz, Maria Anita, Ou Slow, Angelina Akawa, Ori Kuajonganga, Boitselo, Siballi Kgobtesi and many others free of charge.

Design and decorate your own birdfeeder with Magnifique Gifts’ craft class this Saturday. Creating a hanging bench costs N$450, and N$350 extra to add tins. Bookings are essential for the 09h00 to 12h00 session in Barbie Street, Suiderhof.

This Sunday there’s a ‘Carve & Colour’ art class for those who want to learn some watercolour basics, hosted by Lize Dames. Between 10h00 and 15h00 you can dip, flow and blend your way into luminous washes and delicate details for N$400. All materials will be included and seats are limited.

Wooooo! Everybody stay calm! MTC Windhoek Fashion Week is back and celebrating its 10th anniversary with four days of 10 runway slots at the Maerua Mall P3 Parking between 19h00 and 22h00. Come see the Ovaherero Traditional Fashion Show opener on 5 November. Days two (Thursday), three (Friday) and four (Saturday) will feature local designers, such as College of the Arts students, Musibia Designs, Top Score, Dunns, En Vogue by Naemi N and MN Creations, as well as designers from in and around the Southern African Development Community. There are single show tickets for N$150 (front row) and N$80 (standard).

The NTN is hosting the Stage Actors Training Lab 2025 every Tuesday and Thursday in the Rehearsal Room between 14h00 and 17h00. N$50-per-class tickets are only available via Webtickets.

Drop in on Quiz Night and flex your cerebral cortex at Piccolo Cafe and Lounge every Tuesday from 18h30. Entry is N$30 per person for groups of maximum six.

On Wednesdays you can also grab two ice-cold beers from the tap for the price of one at Vinyls Music and Arts Cafe.

The Speakeasy in Liliencron Street is hosting Ladies’ Night every Wednesday with 50% off of all cocktails and meal options available.

Every Wednesday is Comedy and Poetry Night at Sicilia’s Restaurant and Lounge from 19h00. Cash prizes of up to N$1 000 are up for grabs for performers. Spots are limited.
