The events just keep coming

ARTS AT THE CENTRE … Visual artist Hage Mukwendje will launch his solo exhibition ‘Faces That Refuse To Fade’ on 2 October at the National Art Gallery of Namibia.

Like sands through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives. I believe we are all on this Earth to explore, discover and create, and that’s exactly what has brought us together here today.

Today

Stratos at Avani is hosting a Trivia Night tonight, hosted by YD Fresh. Entry is free from 18h00 and there will be shooter specials and cool prizes to be won.

Come through tonight for Agents of Music at the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) between 18h30 and 22h00. Entry is N$200.

This Weekend

Saturday is the NamPharm Foundation Fun Walk at Grove Mall in Windhoek. You can do 5km or 10km steps for clefts from 07h00. Entry is N$100 per person.

This Saturday is the Focus Academy Big Walk from 07h30. Entry is N$50 for adults and N$20 for children. The walk starts at Academia High School.

There’s a Chica Family Fun Day this Saturday at Das Bos at Yellowstone Trails from 07h00. There’s a 5km walk, treasure hunt, stalls, music, face painting and jumping castles. Tickets start at N$50.

Piano Fest is coming to Otjiwarongo this weekend! On Saturday, catch food and drinks stalls, and entertainment featuring ReaDaSoul. Come through to Mokati Stadium for an all day affair.

The Yard AKA Karl’s Plot presents Berthholdt featuring Al-Jay and DJ Swakes on 27 September from 20h00. Entry fee starts from N$50.

Catch Karaoke tomorrow evening at Sicilia’s! Sing your heart out from 19h00.

Next Week

Next Tuesday is the opening of the Roof Music Festival at the Windhoek Showgrounds, supported by Berthholdt Mbinda’s Open Mic Competition between 19h00 and 21h00.

The NTN presents ‘LAND: A Contemporary Dance Theatre Production’ by Haymich Olivier from 2 to 4 October from 20h00. N$180 tickets are available online.

On 2 October, internationally renowned Namibian visual artist Hage Mukwendje is launching his solo art exhibition, ‘Faces That Refuse To Fade’, at the National Art Gallery of Namibia. Through a powerful visual language, this body of work challenges dominant narratives, using beauty as a means to explore this discourse. It will start at 18h00 and run till 1 November.

On 3 October The Wolfshack presents ‘Live Wired’ featuring Markus Sprengler from Germany and our very own Tapz. Entry costs N$50 in advance and N$80 at the gate from 19h00.

The Aura Series presents ‘Scent & Sound with Bare x Odette’ next week Saturday at Droombos. For N$750 you can enjoy candle making, wine tasting and bottomless pizza. The theme is alternative R&B and Soul. Come through between 16h00 and 23h00.

There’s a Glow In The Dark Padel Tournament taking place on 3 October at United Padel in Windhoek. Teams of two can enter for N$600, earning them a goodie bag and beverage. Tickets for viewing are N$100 at the gate. There will be a live DJ and refreshments for sale.

Recurring

The NTN is hosting the Stage Actors Training Lab 2025 every Tuesday and Thursday in the Rehearsal Room between 14h00 and 17h00. N$50-per-class tickets are only available via Webtickets.

Every week is Tipsy Tuesday at the Rabbit Hole in Windhoek. Catch drink specials and music by DJs like IcearGrooves and MVSA from noon.

Drop in on Quiz Night and flex your cerebral cortex at Piccolo Cafe and Lounge every Tuesday from 18h30. Entry is N$30 per person for groups of maximum six.

On Wednesdays you can also grab two ice cold beers from the tap for the price of one at Vinyls Music and Arts Cafe.

The Speakeasy in Liliencron Street is hosting Ladies’ Night every Wednesday with 50% off of all cocktails and meal options available.
