The Clean Gentleman

My fellow gents, let’s keep it real for a second. Do you shower before bed? Do you have a proper face wash? Do you shave your underarms regularly? And honestly, the list goes on.

If your answer is no to most of these, we might need to have a serious conversation.

If it’s yes, then you are on the right track and kudos to you. You could stop reading here – but stick around anyway, you might just pick up a tip or two. Because being a clean gentleman is about consistency, self-respect and showing up as your best self every day.

Being clean as a man is not complicated, but it does require some consistency. It starts with the basics: a clean body. Whether it’s a proper shower, a bath or even using a basin, it has to be done daily. No shortcuts, no excuses, no off days.

Hygiene is not like the gym where you can skip a day and make up for it later. This is an everyday standard. You need to go in properly, take your time, wash thoroughly and pay attention to the details. That’s the foundation.

But being clean doesn’t stop at your body. It defeats the whole purpose if you step out fresh but throw on dirty or wrinkled clothes.

Cleanliness is a full package. Your clothes need to be clean, smelling fresh and well ironed. This applies to everyone, whether you are working in an office or on-site. There’s a certain level of self-respect that shows when a man presents himself properly. People notice it immediately, even before you say a word.

Then comes how you smell. A clean man should smell good, not overpowering, but noticeable in a subtle, pleasant way. A bit of deodorant and a light touch of fragrance go a long way. Don’t overdo it; the goal is to leave a good impression, not to announce your presence from across the room. Apply your fragrance directly to your skin rather than your clothing as this helps avoid stains and allows the scent to develop properly with your body’s natural warmth. Don’t worry, it will still project and be noticeable without needing to spray your clothes.

There’s a formula women have mastered over time: TLC – tender love and care. It shows how they maintain themselves through manicures, pedicures, skincare, lashes and more.

Now imagine if men applied that same principle, just in a way that suits us. The impact would be massive. For us, it starts with the essentials: a fresh haircut, a well-trimmed beard, clean nails.

But it doesn’t have to stop there. Things like pedicures, manicures, facials and even the occasional wax are not just for women. They are part of a proper self-care routine. A clean, well-groomed man stands out effortlessly, and these small details all add up to your overall appearance and hygiene.

This is what defines the modern man, someone who takes pride in himself, not out of vanity, but out of self-respect. Being a clean gentleman means going beyond the basics and investing in how you look and feel.

And the truth is, it doesn’t go unnoticed. Your partner appreciates it, people around you respect it and, most importantly, it boosts your confidence.

It’s time to level up and step into being clean and well-groomed, gentlemen. The resources are there, we just need to use them wisely. Cut back on things that don’t add value, like excessive spending on alcohol, and invest in yourself instead, starting with proper grooming and skincare.

It’s a small shift with a big return and trust me, you will thank yourself later.
