Telling The Truth Is Not Popular

ALLOW me space in the people’s paper to comment on Diescho’s analysis of Namibia’s behaviour.

I could not agree more. I know some do not like Diescho, because they hate constructive criticism. But truth is truth even if it comes from your enemy. We have new Volvos cruising on the roads of this country, a new State House and so many millions still missing. And in the wake of all this the incumbent President flew to America to beg the demeaning status for Namibia to be ranked one of the poorest countries in the world. Our politicians, especially those of the ruling party, must give us a clear message. Is Namibia poor or rich or just exploited? If they say we are rich then there is no need for an unashamed begging for poorest status. And if we say we are poor then why do we drive Volvos and build a new State House at such cost, all for what? In a country where some people have no blankets (some San people for example) to cover themselves this harsh winter but Government misappropriates funds this way.The Deputy Prime Minister is eager to assist the San people, many of them don’t have the basics. But those they vote into power drive in new and expensive Volvos. At 17 years of independence, poverty should have been addressed already. There are so many unemployed people out there, so many orphans, so many homeless Namibians. But Government is paying diluted attention to these problems. At the rate and route things are going now, Vision 2030 is a joke.Who can certify its attainment? On paper yes, Government must walk the walk or we are well on our way to failure. The ruling party has a tendency of justifying, defending and condoning nonsense.Even the ACC seems to be losing track of its own calling.Soon it will just be another office in Namibia. With reshuffles, one can clearly see how Government rewards failures. If a person cannot perform at their trade, where else will they perform? It is clear that some officials who have been reshuffled will continue to under-perform in their roles as expected.Government should go for projects that will directly improve the lives of this nation. What will an expensive State House do for the San people or any other unemployed voter out there? The Public Service Commission must make certain that people hired to fill positions in Government and parastatals are only the best and on merit. In fact the Public Service Commission is somewhat useless. What does it do? Comrade jobs must be no more.Going into exile was a choice, no law forced people out there. Now why is there a need to reward an individual choice?
