Telecom Cripples Internet

IS there anybody in this country who can explain me why Namibians cannot enjoy all the advantages of the Internet? About 10 months ago electronic equipment was installed on all the computers of the service providers with a purpose to block voice mail via Yahoo messenger service and other programs like Skype.

Iway cheated their customers with an incorrect story about a malfunctioning satellite! It is outrageous that such a thing can happen. The incompetent Telecom managers are very keen to exploit their customers with high bills for international calls. When they saw more and more international calls were rerouted over the Internet they simply blocked them! [Do we have a parliament in this country that is aware of such practices?] People tell me that Skype is forbidden.[Skype is a program that allows you to make cheap international calls] Who forbade Skype? Is it Telecom? Does Telecom make laws in this country? Telecom offers us ASDL for N$300 per month so we get faster Internet; the Internet which is in the first place crippled by them.I think we should pressurise the mobile phone companies to offer us cheap Internet with possibilities to make cheap international calls over the Internet, then we can get rid of the landlines because it is just a rip-off.I thought I lived in a country where I was protected against such practices.Angry Via e-mail Note: Name and address provided – EdThe incompetent Telecom managers are very keen to exploit their customers with high bills for international calls. When they saw more and more international calls were rerouted over the Internet they simply blocked them!
