A 14-year-old boy travelling to a wedding was injured on Sunday afternoon after falling from the back of a moving bakkie on a gravel road between Eheke and Okapya in the Oshana region.
According to a police report, the incident occurred at about 17h00 as the vehicle was travelling from Oshikuku to a wedding at Eheke.
“The bakkie was approaching the Omapeleki location when its tailgate allegedly opened unexpectedly, causing the teenager to fall onto the road,” the report read.
The teenager, Paulus Shipanga (14), was rushed to Onandjokwe Hospital.
The police said the boy sustained a head injury and complained of back pain.
“He was admitted for observation and remains in a stable condition,” the police said.
