Team Namibia for AAG made public

WINDHOEK – Team Namibia for the All-Africa Games was announced by Namibia Sports Commission (NSC) Chairman Stanley Simataa on Friday.

The team of 55 athletes, of whom 13 are women, will represent Namibia at the AAG set for Algiers, Algeria, from July 11 to 23. Fifteen coaches and officials plus four managers, two journalists and two physiotherapists will accompany the athletes to Algiers. Two more Namibians, who are not athletes, will participate in the Youth Camp organised by the host country.Namibia will compete in shooting, boxing, gymnastics, wrestling, cycling, athletics, swimming and chess.Badminton withdrew from the games because the players want to concentrate on achieving top results in the Zone Six competition this year.During the announcement the team was officially handed over to the General Team Manager, Bernhardt Kaanjuka.Simataa
