A 25-YEAR-OLD woman died on the Western Bypass on Thursday after she was hit by a taxi.
The accident took place at about 20h20 near the NamPower Von Eck power station in the Northern Industrial Area.According to Khomas Regional Deputy Commissioner Silvanus Nghishidimbwa, Emmelie Swartbooi was sitting next to the road when she was struck by the taxi.It remains unclear what she was doing next to the highway.A case of culpable homicide is also being investigated at Okahandja after a man (32) was hit by a car near Vyfrandkamp.This accident took place at about 21h50.The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene as he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.He is expected to appear in the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court today.
