THE junior national target archery championships were held at Windhoek Bowmen Club (WBC) on the Ramblers Grounds on Saturday.
In the under 12 boys section, Jörn Diemer (WBC) took first place when he gathered 1 328 points, while Sebastian Fechter (WBC) was in second spot with 1297 points.In third place was Mirko Wolff (WBC) with 1293 points, followed by Jan Eric Sack (WBC) in fourth.Felix Weylandt (WBC) took the fifth spot in that category.Mika Wunder was the only archer in the open category and he had 1 084 points.In the Cubs category, there were also medals up for grabs and Markus Pinsenschaum (WBC) got the gold with an impressive record of 1284 in that category.Amadeus Calegari (WBC) shot his way to second spot with 1 180 points.For the cadets, the first place went to Christoph Schaum (SKW) with 1 215 points and Arne Schmid (WBC) with 1 047 points in second place.Frank Bockmühl, FITA vice-president of the Archers Association of Namibia (AAN) handed out the medals and trophies. He thanked WBC and their trainers Dieter and Rainer Pinsenschaum for the youth development in this sports code. The senior national championships will be held at the Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) Ground on July 27.
