A delegation led by Swapo secretary general Sophia Shaningwa met with Zimbabwean president Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House in Harare on Tuesday.
Shaningwa told the media in Zimbabwe that the visit is a traditional practice of exchanging notes and promoting the sharing of experiences and processes among liberation movements in the region.
“It’s our responsibility that secretary generals of our parties visit one another to learn from each other and speak about experiences of our parties,” said Shaningwa.
A source from the party says the visit aims to foster continued cooperation between the sister ruling parties and at strengthening political, economic and diplomatic ties between Namibia and Zimbabwe.
The agenda topics are not yet publicly revealed by the delegation.
