Swapo central committee meeting to tackle challenges within party

Swapo central committee members convened in Windhoek on Saturday to address various matters.

The central committee, according to Swapo deputy secretary general Uahekua Herunga, holds ordinary meetings three times a year, in line with the party’s constitution.

“We are convening as per the party constitution and we will discuss various matters and make resolutions to be carried out through the country in all branches,” Herunga said.

The party of late has faced a backlash from some of its branches, emanating from postponements of conferences to elect candidates for the regional council and local authority elections in November this year.
