In FNB Classic Lashes soccer matches over the weekend, Swakopmund Secondary School beat Coastal High School 3-0, while De Duine Secondary School beat Namib High School 2-0.
Nathan Beukes of Swakopmund Secondary School won the FNB Classic Clashes Man of the Match award after scoring two goals, while their third goal was scored by Goodwin !Awaseb.
The Namib Mills Hero chosen was Jonas Sheyavali, also from Swakopmund Secondary School for his outstanding achievements. Jonas is a sea rescuer, west coast safety initiative ambassador, and a part time worker at Emed Rescue. He is also the vice chairperson of the learners representative council of the school and a top ten academic student, attributes which all played a role in him scooping the title.
In the match between Namib and De Duine, both goals in favour of the visitors De Duine were scored by FNB Man of the Match Elrico Januarie. Bill Ackerman of Namib High School walked away with the title of Namib Mills Hero for his academic achievements.
The next soccer matches will take place this coming weekend on 17 and 18 July when Kuisebmond and SI Gobs meet on Friday at 14h00 at the Kuisebmond Stadium, while West Side High and Kolen Foundation will lock horns on Saturday at 11h00 at the Mondesa Sport Fields.
