The Swakopmund municipality says a contractor undertaking residential developments at Waterberg Street damaged municipal water pipes during construction.
This resulted in the residents of Monica Geingos street at Swakopmund waking up to flooded houses and damaged furniture on Wednesday.
“The Swakopmund municipality has since repaired the damage and restored the water supply. Clearing of ponded water at Waterberg Street, Danger Ashipala Street and Monica Geingos Street is underway. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused,” says spokesperson Linda Mupupa.
