Police in the Oshana region have reported an incident in which a man was electrocuted while allegedly trying to steal copper wire.
The incident happened at Ekamba village near Oshakati early on Thursday morning.
Oshana police regional commander Samaria Lungameni, who confirmed the incident, said the 21-year-old man from Omafo village attempted to steal copper cables from Ekamba clinic transformers.
“Police were notified of the incident after the deceased’s body was transported to Oshakati hospital by paramedics. The objects (pliers) used to cut the cables were found next to the deceased’s body,” said Lungameni.
His next of kin have not yet been informed.
