Supporters called for Ghana

THE Brave Warriors Supporters’ Club (BWSC) yesterday kick-started a campaign which aims to take at least 200 people to Ghana for the African Nations Cup which starts in January next year.

The initiative is dubbed ‘Ghana Here We Come’ and is intended to give interested Namibians a chance to watch and rally behind the Brave Warriors competing there. According to the chairman of the BWSC, McBride Kayele Kambombo, at least 200 people are required to make the trip to Ghana, which has been divided into three travel packages. The first package include the VIPs, who will be required to fork out N$9 000 each for a return trip which will include accommodation, one meal per day, tickets to all of Namibia’s Group matches, transport in Accra as well as visa and group insurance. The second package is designed for media practitioners and will cost N$8 500 per person and include the same benefits as the VIPs.The last one is the ordinary package, which will cost N$7 000 per person and will include the same benefits. The difference is that the VIPs will be housed at top-class hotel in Accra, while the journalists will be stationed in a residential area.People opting for the ordinary package will also be accommodated at a central location.Namibia will play their matches in Accra and Sekondi and transport will be provided to both venues. He said if more sponsors come on board and provide financial assistance to the club, the prices are likely to drop.Yesterday, the Namibia Football Consortium (NFC) became the first sponsors of the club when they announced that the first 200 members who will book their flight tickets to Ghana will receive free Brave Warriors replica shirts. The Warriors are expected to play in new strips at the competition and replica shirts will be available from the end of this month. The NFC also donated N$20 000 to the club, which will be used for any eventualities during the trip to Ghana, according to the consortium’s spokesperson, Amos Shiyuka.Kambombo encouraged people to become members of the BWSC by paying only N$150 a year.He said this would give the registered members numerous benefits offered by the club.He blasted people who tend to be negative about the activities of the club, saying they only criticise but don’t make any efforts to join the club and help improve it.According to the chairman of the BWSC, McBride Kayele Kambombo, at least 200 people are required to make the trip to Ghana, which has been divided into three travel packages. The NFC also donated N$20 000 to the club, which will be used for any eventualities during the trip to Ghana, according to the consortium’s spokesperson, Amos Shiyuka.Kambombo encouraged people to become members of the BWSC by paying only N$150 a year.He said this would give the registered members numerous benefits offered by the club.He blasted people who tend to be negative about the activities of the club, saying they only criticise but don’t make any efforts to join the club and help improve it.
