Students Can Do More

Students Can Do More

I WOULD like to respond to a letter that was published in The Namibian of January 17 2006 regarding Unisa students who do not get service.

I have been a Unisa student since 2003 and do not experience the problems the writer mentioned in her/his letter. Perhaps it’s a matter of not using all the available resources e.g.there is a registration facility (free of charge) at Unam for Unisa students that handles registrations and all queries quite efficiently. The writer should also bear in mind that dispatching of study material (we all know how bulky these packages can be) would cost quite a bit of money and since students do not pay for that separately, there must be some way for Unisa to recover costs. It is the second letter of complaint that I have seen regarding Unisa services and in both instances, I believe that the complainants could do a bit more in ensuring they get the service they paying for.Happy Unisa Student WindhoekPerhaps it’s a matter of not using all the available resources e.g.there is a registration facility (free of charge) at Unam for Unisa students that handles registrations and all queries quite efficiently. The writer should also bear in mind that dispatching of study material (we all know how bulky these packages can be) would cost quite a bit of money and since students do not pay for that separately, there must be some way for Unisa to recover costs. It is the second letter of complaint that I have seen regarding Unisa services and in both instances, I believe that the complainants could do a bit more in ensuring they get the service they paying for.
