Storyteller starts a video podcast to inspire audiences

ON SET … Zeccano and Mapeni Protocol converse during the second episode of ‘What a Life with Zeccano?’.

Storyteller, comedian and actor Shitaleni Zeccano started a video podcast on YouTube titled, ‘What a Life with Zeccano?’, featuring local personalities and influencers to inspire audiences.

Zeccano, who hails from a village called Onheleiwa in the Ohangwena region, describes himself as an analogue guy in a digital world.

He says his new video podcast is a platform that delves into the inspiring, challenging and successful stories of local people, aiming to encourage audiences through sharing the experiences of diverse individuals.

“This initiative is inspired by the desire to share impactful stories that resonate with people from all walks of life,” says Zeccano.

The first episode of the podcast, which aired in January, featured social media sensation and musician, S Vida.

According to Zeccano, S Vida was chosen for her unique journey and ability to inspire others.

In the episode, S Vida spoke about her upbringing and academic performances, including the challenges she faced growing up and launching her career as an artist.

“The interview went smoothly, delving into her challenges, successes and lessons learned,” says Zeccano.

The second episode, which aired in February, highlighted a local radio presenter rich in culture, Simon Kondjashili, popularly known as Mapeni Protocol.

According to Zeccano, Mapeni was chosen to touch on diversity and celebrate culture and heritage.

In the episode, Mapeni spoke about his journey to Christianity, growing up in a culturally diverse environment, his employment conflicts at the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation, and his future endeavours.

“The interview was engaging, exploring his experiences and cultural insights,” says Zeccano.

He adds that both past interviews touched on personal journeys, challenges faced, moments of triumph and insights gained along the way, aiming to inspire and motivate the audience.

In terms of the challenges he faced while filming the series, Zeccano lists logistical arrangements, ensuring smooth communication with the guests and maintaining a conducive filming environment in diverse settings.

The upcoming episode set to air this month will feature a surprise guest who will be maintaining an element of intrigue and excitement, Zeccano says.

“Expect an inspiring and thought-provoking conversation that will resonate with viewers.”

Zeccano says initiatives like ‘What a Life with Zeccano?’ are crucial as they provide a platform for sharing diverse narratives, fostering empathy, understanding and inspiration among individuals.

“Ultimately contributing to a more connected and empowered society,” says Zeccano.
