Stop The Speed Freaks

Stop The Speed Freaks

I WANT to bring to attention of the Police the problem of street-racers in Windhoek.

I live in Hochland Park and I am thoroughly irritated by the street racers racing away on the western bypass! They start at about 11 pm and go on until 5 am until the general public starts to wake up! The worst part is that they do not just race on the western bypass, which is irritating enough! They also like to race on our city’s main roads! I know quite a few of our city’s highways which double as “formula one tracks”. Police, if you have some sort of agreement with them (e.g.no cars with engines larger than V8 4.5 litre allowed, haha!) or something, then please add your name to this column. If not, please come up with something to “fix” the problem.I suggest that a speed-hump be placed on the intersection of western bypass and the road going to Pionierspark in one direction and to Kupferberg dumpsite in the other.Or, place a warning in this newspaper to all culprits. If they don’t comply, place a speed camera on the western bypass to photograph their licence plates.I’m sure you can come up with something.Anonymous WindhoekPolice, if you have some sort of agreement with them (e.g.no cars with engines larger than V8 4.5 litre allowed, haha!) or something, then please add your name to this column. If not, please come up with something to “fix” the problem.I suggest that a speed-hump be placed on the intersection of western bypass and the road going to Pionierspark in one direction and to Kupferberg dumpsite in the other.Or, place a warning in this newspaper to all culprits. If they don’t comply, place a speed camera on the western bypass to photograph their licence plates.I’m sure you can come up with something.Anonymous Windhoek
