FORMER Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) director general Gerry Munyama (54) was sent to prison for seven years this morning.
Munyama was found guilty of fraud and forgery by the High Court of Namibia in Windhoek.
Judge Kato van Niekerk sentenced him to 10 years for fraud of which three years were suspended for five years. The suspension is subject to Munyama not being convicted of fraud or theft during that period and that he repays N$100 720 to the NBC by March 31 2011.
He was jailed for three years for forgery. This sentence will run concurrently with the sentence for the fraud conviction.
