Stabbings claim two lives in the North: Police

TWO late-night stabbings hundreds of kilometres apart claimed two lives in Namibia on Saturday evening, the Namibian Police announced yesterday.

In the far northern Ohangwena Region, a stabbing at about 21h00 on Saturday claimed the life of 21-year-old David Hangula, according to Sergeant Stephan Nuuyi of the Namibian Police’s Public Relations and Liaison Division. Nuuyi said Hangula was stabbed with a knife in the chest and back during a fight.The incident took place at Okaonde, a village in the Ohangwena Region.Hangula died on the spot, and a 20-year-old suspect was arrested, Nuuyi said.He also announced that a 28-year-old man, Johannes Lukas, died at about 23h30 on Saturday in Okuryangava in Windhoek, after he was stabbed in the back.No suspects had been arrested by yesterday afternoon.Nuuyi said Hangula was stabbed with a knife in the chest and back during a fight.The incident took place at Okaonde, a village in the Ohangwena Region.Hangula died on the spot, and a 20-year-old suspect was arrested, Nuuyi said.He also announced that a 28-year-old man, Johannes Lukas, died at about 23h30 on Saturday in Okuryangava in Windhoek, after he was stabbed in the back.No suspects had been arrested by yesterday afternoon.
