St George’s pupils spread cheer

On Wednesday, 6 November the St George’s Diocesan Preparatory School prefects paid a visit to the children’s oncology ward at the Windhoek Central Hospital. The prefects, who arranged the initiative all by themselves, handed over goodie bags to the little patients.

They were accompanied by two teachers,Marietjie Enright and Pieter De Villiers. Dawie Leibbrandt, Head of the Preparatory School congratulated his prefects for this great gesture and said: “At St George’s we teach not only the school curriculum, but also wish to ensure that our learners know about the world and what is out there. This includes children and people who are less fortunate than them – be it because of finances or health wise. We are proud that our learners decided to spread some cheer. This shows great character and I am proud of them.”
