South Africa made a clean sweep of the International Tennis Federation Junior Southern African Championships in Windhoek on Saturday after winning all the titles on offer.
South Africa and Zimbabwe contested all four finals in the u14 boys and girls categories, as well as the u16 boys and girls categories, with South Africa coming out on top in all four.
In the boys u16 category, South Africa beat Zimbabwe 2-0 in the final after winning both singles matches.
SA’s top-ranked player Ethan Pieper comfortably beat his Zimbabwean opposite number Tendekai Musabaeka in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0, while SA’s number two, Hlumani Kekana beat Zimbabwe’s number two, Noah Samushonga 6-1, 7-5.
Botswana finished third in the Boys u16 category after beating Mozambique 2-0.
Reagile Diraditsile of Botswana beat Lesley Jemusse of Mozambique 6-2, 6-0, while Tyson Anderson of Botswana beat Amin Rosa of Mozambique 6-1, 6-2.
Namibia finished fifth after beating Mauritius 2-0.
Namibia’s number one player Lian Kuhn beat his opposite number from Mauritius, Mathis Jean Dorchies 6-3, 1-6, 6-1, while Namibia’s number three, Dante Marcus beat his opposite number Abdallah Rujeedawa 6-1, 6-4.
The girls u16 final was closely contested with SA just edging Zimbabwe 2-1 to take the title.
In the singles matches, SA’s number one Roxy Bredenkamp beat her Zimbabwean opposite number Chanelle Zhuwakini 6-2, 7-6, but Zimbabwe levelled the tie when their number two Simphiwe Malunguza beat SA’s number two, Jenna Theron 6-4, 6-3.
The deciding doubles encounter was a thriller, going down to the wire before SA’s Bredenkamp and Theron emerged victorious with a straight set 6-4, 7-5 win against Malunguza and Zhuwakini.
Namibia finished third after beating Madagascar 2-1 in the bronze medal match.
Namibia’s number three, Natalia-Tia Ouses lost 6-1, 6-3 to Oninstsoa Ramanampanoharana, but Namibia’s number one, Mari van Schalkwyk levelled the tie when she beat Soan Andriamaniraka 5-7, 7-6, 6-2 in a tough three setter.
Van Schalkwyk and Ouses then prevailed to win the doubles 6-3, 6-7, 10-6 against Andriamaniraka and Matei Randrianasolo to win the tie 2-1.

SA’s number one Nicholas Kruger beat Zimbabwe’s number one Joel Badza without losing a game, 6-0, 6-0, while SA’s number two Tristan Summers beat Zimbabwe’s Devine Kaliofasi 6-2, 7-6.
Botswana finished third after beating Madagascar 2-0 in the bronze medal match.
Namibia finished sixth after losing 2-1 to Mauritius.
Namibia’s number two Tadiwa Mombeyarara beat his opposite number Sulleiman Rujeedawa 6-2, 6-2, but Mauritius drew level when their number one, Alexander Thevenet beat Namibia’s number one, Johan Theron 7-6, 6-1.
In the deciding doubles encounter, Thevenet and Edvin Sannassee beat Mombeyarara and Theron 6-0, 6-1.

SA’s top-seeded player Lily Haley had little trouble in beating Zimbabwe’s number one, Emmly George 6-1, 6-0, while SA’s number two, Leago Dube beat her Zimbabean opposite number 6-2, 6-3.
Botswana finished third after beating Lesotho 2-1 in the bronze medal match.
Namibia finished sixth after losing 2-1 to Angola. Namibia’s number one Secilia Nghitewapo lost 6-2, 6-1 to her Angolan opposite number Angela Manacas, but Namibia’s third ranked player Emma Brinkmann levelled the tie when she beat Angola’s number two, Catarina Manacas 6-2, 6-1.
Angola, however, won the deciding doubles encounter when the Manacas sisters beat Brinkmann and Nakusera in a thrilling three-setter, 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.
