TWO weeks after a N$2 million jewellery theft rock the Wernhil Park branch of American Swiss, the Police managed to recover some of the stolen items valued at N$48 000.
The Police made the recovery at houses in Katutura over the weekend, Khomas Deputy Commissioner Silvanus Nghishidimbwa said.Among the recovered items are 13 gold watches, 16 rings, five silver watches, five bracelets and a cellphone.Nghishidimbwa said the Police are looking for Penda Kasheeta (25) in connection with the incident. Earlier, it was reported that the thief left clothes, shoes and tools suspected to have been used in the night-time burglary behind at the scene.The American Swiss management has remained tight-lipped about the burglary.Following the heft, the staff at the shop were allegedly replaced overnight.Nghishidimbwa said entry was obtained through a hole that was made in the shop’s roof.It is understood that the safe was unlocked at the time of the incident.
