Minister of justice and labour relations Wise Immanuel praises the Social Security Commission (SSC) for their adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
This was said at the SSC stakeholder and development fund gala dinner on Thursday night.
He stated that the SSC was one of the few government institutions embracing new technology. He said this embrace of AI has led to a significant reduction of the development fund and legacy debt loads. Meanwhile, investment returns rose to N$605 million, well above the target.
Immanuel further noted that the SSC Development Fund has created 1 846 sustainable jobs across the country since its inception.
“It is, therefore, imperative that employers, unions, governments, and development partners and other SSC stakeholders must strengthen their collaboration and make joint investments to strengthen Namibia’s social protection ecosystem in the face of increasing economic and environmental risks,” he said.
The event celebrated 30 years of social security advancements in Namibia.
