Soccer season kick-off delayed

THE start of the 2006/2007 soccer season is being delayed by an outstanding disciplinary case lodged by Northern Stream First Division outfit Mighty Gunners.

Mighty Gunners are of the opinion that archrivals Golden Bees had submitted falsified results during the 2005/2006 soccer season, which threw the log standing into disarray. Speaking to Nampa on Monday, the Namibia Football Association’s Disciplinary Coordinator, Barry Rukoro, said the issue would be resolved before the kick-off of the 2006/2007 season.Earlier this month, Rukoro said that Golden Bees had to respond to the allegations before a decision would be taken. In explaining disciplinary hearing procedures, Rukoro said that if a case of misconduct is reported to the league in which the club plays, the league will investigate the matter before submitting its findings to the NFA Disciplinary Committee (DC).The DC will then convene a hearing at which the accused is officially charged and asked to plead to the charge. The winning team will be promoted to the Namibia Premier League (NPL) to join the Southern Stream First Division (SSFD) winner Friends FC.NampaSpeaking to Nampa on Monday, the Namibia Football Association’s Disciplinary Coordinator, Barry Rukoro, said the issue would be resolved before the kick-off of the 2006/2007 season.Earlier this month, Rukoro said that Golden Bees had to respond to the allegations before a decision would be taken. The winning team will be promoted to the Namibia Premier League (NPL) to join the Southern Stream First Division (SSFD) winner Friends FC.Nampa
