Six people died in a head-on collision between Rehoboth and Windhoek on Saturday.
The police say the driver of a sedan was driving on the B1 main road from Rehoboth to Windhoek with two passengers, and another sedan was driving from Windhoek to Rehoboth with five occupants.
The two vehicles crashed head-on after one of the sedans allegedly tried to overtake a truck.
The police report states that three occupants from the one sedan, all South African citizens, succumbed to their injuries.
The other vehicle, with Namibian occupants, caught fire after a bakkie crashed into it. The occupants died at the scene.
Two passengers from the one vehicle are seriously injured and were taken to Katutura Intermediate Hospital.
