RUNDU – Residents in the Kahenge constituency have accused young officials involved in drought aid distribution of behaving negatively towards old people.

A concerned caller from Ntara village, some 60 kilometres west of Rundu, voiced the concerns on the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation’s Rukavango Radio Service this week. The caller claimed the young officials had no respect for vulnerable people.She said elderly people especially were forced to walk fast to reach distribution points to collect their food.If they were late, the officials ordered the truck to leave.The caller claimed that old people at Ntara unable to reach distribution points in time were left out.She appealed to the Regional Emergency Management Unit (Remu) office in the region to intervene.- NampaThe caller claimed the young officials had no respect for vulnerable people.
