Celebrated Namibian musician Shax Champion has released a new single titled ‘Aha’, signalling a confident new phase in his musical journey.
The song dropped on Friday and is already generating buzz among fans and early listeners, who describe it as “the next anthem.”
Best known for hits such as ‘Kop Pyne’ and ‘Gemors’, Shax blends kwaito, amapiano and street-inspired rhythms to create an energetic, distinctly Namibian sound.
He says ‘Aha’ captures “that moment when the beat hits, and everyone just gets it.”
“This one is about feeling yourself, having fun, and not letting negativity kill your shine,” he says.
Produced by his long-time collaborators under the Champion Sound label, the single features Shax’s trademark bounce, danceable rhythm and playful lyricism.
“Every song I drop is a reflection of my journey from where I started as a choir boy to who I am today,” he adds. “’Aha’ feels like the sound of growth and confidence.”
Originally from Lüderitz, Shax rose to prominence after his viral track ‘Gemors’ featuring Musketeers, followed by ‘Kop Pyne’ and ‘Too Much Sauce’. His consistent releases have earned him a loyal following and a reputation for bridging township authenticity with mainstream appeal.
As his star continues to rise, Shax says his mission remains the same — to create music that uplifts and entertains.
“Fans should expect more fire. ‘Aha’ is just the beginning of a big wave,” he says.
