Selma Kamanya makes it to the final round of the Miss World head-to-head challenge, placing in the top 20 in the world and second in Africa, only behind South Africa.
Kamanya’s victory comes through the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ segment that involves humanitarian activities by contestants.
Her project on youth empowerment and community development has earned her international recognition and a place in Friday’s final round of the challenge.
Representing Namibia among 108 nations, Kamanya’s victory places Namibia on the map in the lead-up to the Miss World 2025 grand finale set for 31 May at the Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad.
Speaking to The Namibian, Kamanya said: “As a dedicated Namibian woman, entrepreneur and community servant, I believe in holistic empowerment — addressing both mental health and food security as foundations of a prosperous society.”
Miss World Namibia executive chairman Andreas Robert commends Kamanya.
“Kamanya has represented Namibia with intelligence, empathy and determination uncompromisingly. Her advancement is an enormous national triumph.”
