Selma Kamanya makes it into top 8 at Miss World sport challenge

Miss World Namibia 2025 Selma Kamanya, who is currently in India where she is participating in Miss World 2025, has made it into the top eight at the continental sport challenge.

The 72nd final edition of the pageant will be held at the Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, India, on 31 May.

“We made it! All I have is gratitude. These ladies (contestants) have grit, resilience, and strength, and I’m so incredibly grateful to be part of such an inspiring cohort. Well done to all the participants. Exercise doesn’t just change your body. It transforms your mind, your attitude and your mood. Fitness isn’t just a routine, it’s a lifestyle,” Kamanya says.

She says they are working tirelessly behind the scenes to give the public a great show, adding that participating in Miss World has taught her new things, one of them being that every single day is a blessing.

“I’m coming to learn that every single day is a blessing and there’s a new sense of urgency to make every day count. Another day, another chance. There’s a saying that goes,’What would you do if you weren’t afraid to fail?’ I think sometimes due to fear we limit what we are able and capable of doing. But what’s the point of living life half-heartedly? I encourage you today to go wholeheartedly after those dreams you’re too afraid to chase. Don’t procrastinate, start now,” Kamanya says.

She refers to her journey at Miss World as more than a dream, saying it is a journey of heart, hope and purpose.
