Swapo member Henny Seibeb is reportedly being considered for the position of director in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), with Patience Masua tipped to serve as his deputy.
Sources close to the matter confirmed the appointments to The Namibian, stating that the roles are expected to be formalised at the beginning of June.
Seibeb, formerly the deputy leader of the Landless People’s Movement, resigned from the party last year.
His defection to Swapo was widely publicised, with the ruling party welcoming him.
Masua, who gained recognition as the youngest member of parliament during former president Hage Geingob’s tenure, has denied knowledge of any such appointment.
“No… that is not true,” she said when approached for comment.
Seibeb did not respond to questions send to him by The Namibian, despite numerous calls.
