A security guard stationed at the Ondangwa Town Council’s offices is suspected to have fatally shot himself with a pistol while on duty on Monday morning.
The guard was identified as Israel Jesaya, aged 31.
According to Oshana police spokesperson inspector Thomas Aiyambo, Jesaya was found dead where he sat at the back of the Ondangwa Town Council premises.
He was dressed in his security guard uniform, had a pistol in his right hand, and had sustained a fatal gunshot injury to the head.
Aiyambo said a colleague of Jesaya found his body.
