Seapride facility, trucks up in flames

Around 02h00 on Sunday morning a fire engulfed nine trucks and one forklift at the Seapride Foods facility in Windhoek’s Prosperita industrial area.

The Windhoek fire brigade were summoned and struggled for a few hours to contain the flames, which were only put out after the sun had already risen.

While the cause of the fire remains as yet unknown, an investigation is ongoing, and the damage to Seapride property is estimated to be more than N$15 million, according to company sources at the scene on Sunday morning.
