Sanlam Awards Unfair

THE Sanlam Music Awards were unprofessional and unfair. The stage was very small and the audience was sitting too close to the stage.

Where did the award for Best Namibian Group go and where is the Song of the Year award? I think this year was Gazza’s year because he has done a lot throughout the year. Next year I want to see changes – the artists must be paid N$10 000 to N$40 000 because they have to go to the studio and do much better and all those things cost a lot of money. Please put a Damara category because Stanley did not belong there, perhaps in the traditional section.Gal Level has come a long way in music. How can they get the Best Newcomers Award and how can Dore enter the same song twice? I think that if they can’t organise something well and fairly they should just stop or give it to professionals. The artists are not the problem – it is the organisers.Anon Via e-mailNext year I want to see changes – the artists must be paid N$10 000 to N$40 000 because they have to go to the studio and do much better and all those things cost a lot of money. Please put a Damara category because Stanley did not belong there, perhaps in the traditional section.Gal Level has come a long way in music. How can they get the Best Newcomers Award and how can Dore enter the same song twice?
