‘Samora Machel constituency must be divided’

The Khomas Regional Council wants the Samora Machel constituency to be divided into two.

The constituency has the largest population, at over 92 000 residents.

Khomas governor Laura McLeod-Katjirua on Thursday argued that the large population has made it difficult to provide adequate services in the area. The proposed new constituency should be named Otto Nankudhu.

The governor was presenting to the fifth Boundaries Delimitation and Demarcation Commission, which is taking place in Windhoek on Thursday and Friday.

The commission is led by acting judge Petrus Unengu.
