Sally And Leather Mein Just Besties

Since posting a few wedding photos last week, music fans have been dying of curiosity.

Did Sally Boss Madam and Leather Mein really get married?

After driving fans crazy with their silence, the pair finally spilled the beans to The Weekender.

And yep, you guessed, it was all just a well-timed publicity stunt to promote the upcoming music video for their track ‘Bestie’, shot by Desert Films.

“It was all showbiz. In other countries I see this sort of thing happening all the time. Sally and I wanted to create hype so people would be motivated to watch the video when it comes out. The confusion we created was all for marketing purposes,” Leather Mein says.

The wedding-themed shoot took place at Safari Hotel and Am Weinberg Estate in Windhoek, and all those involved signed a non-disclosure agreement.

“They all were excited about the project from the start. Everything was well planned. On Monday the team gathered and saw the first cut of the video. We are now busy with the final touches and cannot wait to showcase the project to the world,” he says.

The video, which will be released at the end of the month, showcases a happy and hopeful story of love.

“The groom is getting married to the love of his life and best friend,” Leather Mein says.

“There is a part where one of the bridesmaids is not happy for the bride, but the groom tells her straight up he has made his decision and wants to spend the rest of his life with only her.”

Sally Boss Madam fell in love with the beautiful mermaid-style wedding dress, made by Abisai Iileka.

“He made the dress from scratch. It took him about two weeks. I appreciate the time and effort that went into it. It was a success,” she says.

Shooting took a little longer than normal, due to Covid-19 safety measures which had to be employed.

“Social distancing and avoiding a large gathering needed to be adhered to. Only a certain amount of people could be on set at a time. Despite this we all had fun. The teamwork was great and everyone was happy. Everything seemed so real and at some point everyone thought it was a real wedding,” Sally Boss Madam says.

Wendy’s Creations ensured the decor was beautiful and stylish. Some of the bridesmaids included Pombili Shilongo, Maria Nepembe and Nikola Conradie, while King Tee Dee, Paul Da Prince and Mufaro Nesongano stood by the groom.

Royal Boutique ensured the wedding party looked impeccable, while Malu Da Silver and Julia Bosslady ensured the facebeats were on point, and Brides by Ada did everyone’s hair.
