A TECHNICAL glitch at the bank has been blamed for a delay in the payment of salaries at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).
NBC staff received their payslips on Thursday but could not draw any money until yesterday afternoon.
NBC spokesperson Umbi Karuaihe-Upi said the fault was with the bank, as the salaries were supposed to be paid over the weekend. She said the bank could not process the payments over the weekend but all salaries would have been paid by today.Panic-stricken employees had questioned whether the NBC had any money in its accounts. Some speculated that the NBC had not yet received its annual budget from Government despite the financial year ending in March.
