Rundu Water Front Festival promises fireworks

The Rundu Water Front Festival 2023 continues with a series of music performances, with Zambian award-winning artist Yo Maps expected to perform on Friday.

The artist, whose real name is Elton Mulenga, won the Album of the Year and Best Male Artist awards at the fifth edition of the 2023 Kwacha Music Awards in October.

After his performance at Rundu tomorrow, Yo Maps is due to perform at the Zanami Festival at Katima Mulilo on Saturday as part of his tour of Namibia.

Member of the marketing team Olivia Nghipunduka told The Namibian yesterday the festival at the Rundu beach water front started at the beginning of December.

“We want people to come together as a town, giving an opportunity to entrepreneurs to market their brands and celebrate the festive season,” said Nghipunduka.

Nghipunduka, also known as DJ-B-Cul, one of Rundu’s rocking female DJs, radio personality Paul da Prince, who will also feature at tomorrow’s show as the MC, alongside other supporting artists and DJs from Rundu will be performing.

“It’s going to be a night of performances, with Yo Maps expected to rock the stage and a series of performances from local artists,” says DJ B-Cul.

Tickets for the festival are available at all Pick n Pay stores.

The festival started on 4 December and is expected to run until 4 January 2024.
